McMinnville Education Foundation awards over $25,000 in mini-grants

The McMinnville Education Foundation (MEF) has announced its annual mini-grant awards with over $25,000 in 34 projects funded.

Teachers at all levels were allowed to request grant funds up to $1,000 to augment educational opportunities such as field trips; classroom equipment; Science, arts

The winners will be feted at a dessert reception on Thursday, November 30 at 7 p.m. in the McMinnville Grand Ballroom. All are welcome to attend.

Grant projects and grant writers include:

3D Printed Prosthetic Hands, Michelle Brantner, Patton STEM teacher, 3D printer ($986.15)

5th Grade Outdoor Experience; Anne Massey, Carrie Munger, Maylyn Kunita and Larissa Leavitt; Buel 5th Grade teachers; t-shirts, tie dye kit, park permit ($774)

Accelerating Learning for Students with Learning Challenges; Jolene Heinrich, Natalie Behrends, Heather Freeman, and Cheska Schiwinger; K-8 books and sensory tools ($1,000)

All About the Bass, Karen Wenzel, Memorial music teacher, Orff bass xylophone     ($1,000)

All kids need an ally in Learning!, Shannon Botten, Duniway LRC teacher, Learning Ally subscription ($1,000)

Arduino Autonomous Microbots, David Larson, MHS 10th grade Engineering Projects teacher, Arduino equipment and supplies ($997.28)
