McMinnville High School teachers Cindy Robertson and Juanita Clarno (pictured, fourth and fifth from left) were invited to a week in San Diego for the U.S. Navy’s Educator Orientation Visit (EOV).  “The purpose is to educate educators on opportunities for students, particularly well qualified students,” said Robertson.

The two toured several facilities and ships and participated in some simulations.  Tours included the biggest aircraft carrier in the service, a destroyer and helicopter squadron.  They also watched a briefing of the Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewmen program.

While the Navy is interested in students who are proficient in math and science for its elite programs, there’s also room for any level of student, according to Robertson.
