The McMinnville High School Unified Sports Basketball Team won first place at the statewide tournament last Saturday. Unified Sports® is a program that combines approximately equal numbers of Special Olympics athletes and athletes without intellectual disabilities (known as unified partners) on sports teams for training and competition.

The team is coached by Colleen Rentz, Charlotte Smail and Mike Gower. "They won all three games in their division and demonstrated amazing tenacity and sportsmanship throughout the tournament," said MHS Athletic Director Mark Hinthorn.
