McMinnville High School (MHS) senior Jamie Graham has been recognized by the National Center for Women & IT (NCWIT)’s Aspirations in Computing Award.  Jamie won first place in the 2015 Oregon & SW Washington region and was a national runner up.

The award is intended to build a talent pool for the growing technical workforce by recognizing high school students for their computing-related achievements and interests.

Jamie attends MHS’s Engineering & Aerospace Sciences Academy (EASA) and is the lead programmer for FRC Robotics and the International Space Station nanolab project.  Last June, Jamie traveled to Cape Canaveral to witness the nanolab launch, only to see the SpaceX rocket explode just minutes after takeoff.

Jamie is also a project manager for the high school interns at AutoDesk, where she is creating a FIRST robotics simulator.
