Fall Harvest Bistro Night coming to Mac High

Join students in the Grizzly Catering and ProStart programs for Fall Harvest Bistro Night on Friday, October 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafe. Featuring the gourmet cooking skills of the Culinary Arts Career Pathway students, the evening promises to be a spectacular dining experience.

Cost per meal is $30 or whatever price seems appropriate. To reserve a spot, call 503.565.4141 or email Culinary Arts pathway teacher Krista Carpino with the number in your party.

“This is a delicious way to support the Culinary Arts students,” said Carpino.  “This event is not only a fundraiser for upcoming competitions, but it also gets students focused on performing in a set timeframe. Best of all, the evening gives the community a chance to come in and see the students at work and sample the outstanding results of their labors.”

Caramelized onion, gruyere, pear & thyme tart

Butternut & Acorn Squash Bisque (GF)
A classic hearty fall staple accompanied with toasted pumpkin seeds

Honeycrisp Apple Salad (GF)
With candied walnuts and cider vinaigrette

Mesquite Sea Scallops (GF)
Smoked and served atop aged cheddar grits

Asian Fusion Shrimp & Crab Cake (GF)
Atop purple sticky rice, served with an Asian slaw, spicy curry sauce and lime dusted rice paper

Cranberry Orange and Rosemary Sorbet (GF)
A light, fragrant palate cleanser

Pacific Northwest Apple & Pear Bisque (GF)
Lighter, fragrant “bisque” topped with pan roasted filberts

Sous-vide Beef (GF)
Accompanied with a parsnip purée, caramelized rainbow carrots, and a red wine reduction

Lemon Tartlet (GF)
Lemon Sabayon curd nestled in a baked phyllo cup, served with a sweet raspberry compote

Salted Caramel Cheesecake
Topped with house made whipped cream
