After-School Programs

The Kids on the Block (KOB) After-School Enrichment Program is a collaborative  partnership between the McMinnville School District and the City of McMinnville Parks & Recreation department with support from Friend of KOB Inc.

Kids on the Block provides a safe, fun and enriching environment for first- through fifth-grade children to learn and play after school. The program includes time for homework and reading, as well as a wide variety of enriching recreational opportunities, such as arts and crafts, sports, performing arts, games, and social and leadership development activities. The program also includes occasional visits from enrichment specialists such as OMSI, the Oregon Zoo, Humlie School of Music, and a wide range of storytellers, naturalists and artists.

A supplemental program, Success Now! is offered by invitation and is part of the after-school program. Success Now! provides students with the opportunity to work on mastering the skills and concepts they need to meet the standards of their grade level.
