Summer reading.2019

Summer reading takes off!
Posted on 07/01/2019

This summer, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, the McMinnville Public Library is offering a constellation of activities and programs for the whole family.

The library also partners with the McMinnville School District (MSD) in a free lunch program for any child ages 1 through 18, so families can check out books, participate in learning activities and eat a nutritious lunch (1 – 2 p.m.) all at the library. Click here to find other locations for MSD’s summer meals.

Graphic novels, picture books, comic books, chapter books, poetry, nonfiction, any kind of reading helps kids keep their skills sharp over the long, lazy days of summer say reading experts. Parents can get ideas to help feed a passion for reading on sites like Start with a Book, a summer project of Reading Rockets.
