Summer reading 2018

Summer reading programs at Buel, the public library and Bookmobile!
Posted on 06/20/2018

Summertime is a great time to keep kids immersed in reading for fun. Fiction. Nonfiction. Picture books. Magazines. Graphic novels.  All sorts of reading material can help keep kids’ minds active over the lazy days of summer.

Sue Buel Elementary continues its tradition of opening the school library during the summer. Hours are noon to 2 p.m., Thursdays, from June 28 through August 16. The program coincides with the summer meals program, so children under 18 can come at noon for lunch and then head over to the library.

The first 100 students to attend Buel’s library days will receive a free book bag.

Another lunch/reading program to check out is the McMinnville Public Library’s summer reading program, “Libraries Rock!”

Beginning June 26, the library will offer free lunches for kids under 18 on Tuesdays through Fridays in the Carnegie Room from 1:30 – 2 p.m.  On Wednesdays, lunch will also be available at the Community Center as well.
