“Promise of Oregon”

McMinnville students are the “Promise of Oregon”
Posted on 10/24/2017

Students from every school in the district will be profiled in the new school year’s campaign for the “Promise of Oregon.” The project’s production crew interviewed students about their future plans and aspirations and photographed them in various locations around their schools.

The images will be used in a statewide campaign that focuses on the accomplishments of Oregon’s students and the need to adequately fund public education.

“Our emphasis this year in the ‘Promise of Oregon’ campaign is to highlight those programs statewide that are lifting Oregon’s high school graduation rate,” said Alex Pulaski, OSBA communications director. “Under the leadership of the McMinnville School Board and Superintendent Maryalice Russell, the McMinnville School District is doing exemplary work to ensure that young people are graduating from high school and headed toward college and careers.”

The campaign is coordinated by the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) and is based on the principles that today’s students are Oregon’s greatest natural resource and that Oregonians must invest in public schools so the next generation can reach its potential.
